The Arran distillery was opened in 1995 at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. The island floats on the Firth of Clyde off the west coast between the Kintyre peninsula and Ayrshire. Arran has soaring hills and rugged coasts, rich farmland and dense forests, all concentrated into a compact parcel floating in the Firth of Clyde between the Ayrshire coast and the Kintyre peninsula. It’s known as ‘Scotland in miniature’, as it shares some of the characteristics of the Highlands and Lowlands, the mainland and the Western Isles.
Arran Signature Series 3 Duero Discovery
50% abv
Bright with caramelised fruit and hazelnuts. Slight note of salted caramel and zesty grapefruit rind. Full bodied and plenty of complex mouthfeel. Oak forward with dark red berries and creamy vanilla. A little ginger, sweet spice
and aniseed. Long, complex and mouthwatering. Vanilla and toasted oak lingers with a real sweet candy side. Delightful!
This is a 12 year old unpeated expression of Arran Single Malt. It was initially matured for 6 years in first and second fill bourbon barrels and then transferred to first fill Spanish red wine casks and matured in our dunnage
