Arvay Tokaji Aszu 6 Puttonyos 50cl 2017
11% abv
Medium golden yellow. The aroma reveals fresh fruits (apricots, pears), aszú berries, rose hips, vanilla, honey and the saltiness resulting from the minerality. The taste is a cavalcade of flavors and fireworks due to the harmony of sugar and acid. One sip of aszú can feel the dried apricots, burnt sugar, caramel, honey. Very rich, very long aftertaste, with vibrant and fruity acids. The palate is both fruity and excitingly lively, characteristic of the 2017 vintage, and finishes long and gracefully.
From a selction of 40 – 45 year old vines in the Padihegy& Istenhegy vineyrds with soils of Volcanic Tuffa. The aszú berries were soaked in fermenting wine (base wine, whole clusters selected early Noember) for 4 days, then pressed in a traditional middle-spindle press. After natural fermentation in barrel wine was aged for 3 years in Hungarian barrels.
194g/l residual sugar- a 6 puttonyos wine must be a minimum of 120g/l
