Located in… wait for it, the hamlet of Badachro in the Scottish Highlands, Gordon & Vanessa hand pick an array of exquisite botanicals from the surrounding hills, woodland, fields and shores of the Gairloch and combine them in our beautiful (and rather mature) copper pot still ‘Delilah’. She marries the subtle flavours and scents of local botanicals with a carefully selected combination of traditional botanicals, herbs & spices to create an absolutely delicious, unique and authentic taste of the Highlands. Juniper, wild myrtle, coriander, gorse blossom, lavender, rose-hip petals and elderflower among other delights, combine to create a distinct and delicious taste which is unique to our stunningly beautiful land of purity, clarity and wonder.
Badachro Distillery Bad na h-Achlaise- Rum Cask Finish
Rum cask Whiskies are always very popular due to their delicious sweeter finish, and this limited release from Badachro Distillery is another great example of how Rum casks can bring out the softer side of whisky.
Distillery tasting notes:
Nose: Tropical fruits for days, orange peel, vanilla, fudge, coconut, mango and banana with fudge.
Palate: Citrus, especially pineapple stands out with a light drizzle of syrup,
Finish: Natural marmalade on perfectly prepared toast-bread with a long-lasting toasted oak coating the mouth.
All together: The gentler side of the Bad na h-Achlaise collection, a real whisky drinker’s whisky, oh so subtle but still extraordinarily complex.
