Domaine Benoit Badoz Vin Jaune 62cl 2015

15% abv

Vol- 62cl

Brilliant golden yellow robe. A smooth and creamy wine, with great aromatic complexity dominated by walnut and green apple, enhanced by spices. Beautifully balanced, this full-bodied and harmonious wine.

Ranked among the greatest wines of France, Vin Jaune is made exclusively from the Savagnin grape variety. Planted on the blue clay soils of the Jura region, it is aged in oak barrels for 6 years and 3 months, without compensating for the evaporation of approximately one-third of the volume. A veil of yeast forms on the surface of the wine, protecting it from oxidation. It is during this long aging process that it acquires its spicy aromas of walnuts, almonds, and curry.

Good stock

inemakers from father to son for 10 generations, Domaine Badoz is located in Poligny, in the heart of the Jura wine region. The estate's vineyards are primarily situated on the historic plots of "Les Roussots" and "Les Grands Roussots," composed of Triassic and Lias marl and schistous clay. These are the first foothills of the Jura Mountains, home to a long tradition of characterful wines, as well as gastronomy and conviviality. The estate has been built up over generations, and Benoît took over in 2003 with the aim of maintaining a human scale, in order to care for the vines and to have maximum control over the quality of the grapes and therefore the wines. This is why he chose to manage his vineyard according to organic certification. Thanks to his journey, which took him from Puligny-Montrachet to Château Petrus, from the United States to Australia, Benoît chooses to produce wines that respect the typicity of the terroir and the AOCs of the Jura, but also wines whose personality allows us to discover other facets of the traditional grape varieties of the region.
