Domaine Remi Jeanniard Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2022

From a single parcel of about a third of a hectare, planted in 1945 on deep sandy-clay soils with large, round pebbles, these are hand-harvested with sorting in the vineyard. The grapes undergo pre-fermentation cold maceration, followed by a three-week fermentation with 20% whole bunches, with pigeage or pumpovers when necessary.

Only indigenous yeasts are used. Some of the lees are left in contact with the wine for 1 year. Aged for one year in oak before light filtration and bottling.

The palate is an embodiment of seduction, exuding a succulent, spirited, and velvety demeanor. A sensation akin to crushed pepper or juniper berries, entwined with licorice, conjures the image of a wild thicket—a symposium of flavors. Simultaneously, a lively acidity, reminiscent of zesty citruses, playfully hints at the tang of fresh orange juice. True to its essence, a gentle note of tannin imparts the poised restraint anticipated. A captivating, saliva-inducing finish brings the tasting to a close.
Ultimately, even in the midst of a complex vintage, this wine retains its familiar character. Levin appears to triumph over the trial, asserting itself with an eortless grace.
Pairing: Roasted pork with garden-fresh vegetables or thyme. Ideal companions: Bresse chicken, capon.

Remi has just over 7 hectares of vines in and around Morey-St.Denis. The vines are much older than average, with all of his Vieilles Vignes village bottlings being at least 50 years old, and the Morey St Denis over 60. This gives a natural concentration to the wines which are both well structured and elegant. Remi is a firm believer that wines are made in the vineyard and this shows through in the pure, concentrated style of the wines and the cautious use of new oak.

What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.

UK mainland deliveries are overnight from confirmation of despatch with the exception of the following postcodes where deliveries are made on a 2 to 5 day service from despatch :
