On the shores of the Dornoch Firth, close to the historic town of Tain, Glenmorangie is one of the most recognisable names in the world of single malt Scotch whisky. Glenmorangie boasts the tallest stills in Scotland, based on the design of 19th century gin stills from London and were installed when the distillery was founded in the 1840s. Such tall stills, famously as tall as giraffes, create a relatively light and floral spirit but sufficiently complex enough to cope with a wide array of cask finishes.

Glenmorangie The Nectar 16 Years Old
46% abv
Vol- 70cl
Sauternes and Montbazillac casks from France contribute the sumptuous pastry, brioche, meringue, and baked apple notes; Moscatel casks from Spain give some altogether more cake and sweet, syrupy dessert-like notes; finally, Tokaji casks from Hungary contribute a plethora of white chocolate, almond and honeycomb flavours to the final blend recipe.
The result is a completely unparalleled range of sweet, nectar- like flavours ever to be found in a Single Malt Scotch Whisky, where aromas of baking brioche, leesy wine, baked apricots and almonds collide with the flavours of butter candy, orange syrup, honeycomb, vanilla cream drenched apricots tempered by a most curious touch of spices, like nutmeg and star anise.”
