Heaphy Vineyard is a small winery in the north-west corner of New Zealand’s South Island, a region named Nelson Tasman. The winery is situated high above Tasman Bay on the Moutere Hills, where 10ha of long-established vineyards are defined by Moutere’s signature clay soils. First planted in 1973, the vines are amongst the very oldest productive vineyards in New Zealand.

Heaphy Nelson Pinot Noir 2024
14% abv
Heaphy Pinot Noir is a gently perfumed and characterful wine, expressive of Nelson unique breezy and warm terroir. A well-balanced profile, showing plenty of fruit, energy, and desired juiciness.
100% Pinot Noir from three vineyards in Tasman, Upper Moutere and Ruby Bay. Mostly handpicked and destemmed grapes that we process in open fermenters. Following délestage twice a day for about three weeks to ensure a gentle extraction of colour and tannins, the grapes are pressed, and a portion will then go into barrels and puncheons where the wine will spend the next 10 months of its life. Topped regularly, the malolactic fermentation happens when the winery warms up in spring. When the wine is ready, we filter the wine and bottle.
Try with mushroom risotto or stuffed roasted butternut squash.
