I Pentri Flora Falanghina 2022

14.5% abv

Vol- 75cl

“The 2022 Falanghina Flora is youthfully coy, requiring coaxing to reveal its pretty bouquet of wildflowers, mint leaf, chamomile and freshly sliced pears. This displays an amazing textural heft. It’s round and supple yet incredibly fresh, with brisk acidity and citrus-infused orchard fruits that are further complicated by hints of ginger. The 2022 leaves the palate reeling with youthful tension and savory spice, as notes of mandarin keep the mouth watering for more and a sensation of liquid stone resonates. This is a gorgeous and refined Falanghina from I Pentri that’s sure to get even better with time.” 2024 – 2032
93 Points, Eric Guido, Vinous, March 24

A hit of ginger and iced fennel introduce the Flora Falalnghina. Zesty with pear, nectarine and green mango. The fruits are framed by an intense zip of crushed citrus pithiness and the candied plumpness of textural density is balanced on a long blade of flourescent vivacity.

Wild fermented in stainless steel and aged on the lees. A selection from older vines on a higher proportion of clay with limestone and sandstone.

I Pentri takes its name from an ancient Samnite Tribe and is based in the Benevento province of Campania with 10 hectares of terraced vineyards on the hillsides of Monte Taburno. Husband-and-wife team Dionisio Meola and Lia Falato founded the winery in 2002 after 20 years experience of tending vines and the land in this area close to their hearts. Vineyards are tended and harvested by hand. No chemicals are used and natural biodynamic practices are followed with minimal interventions in the winery. Wines are fermented with wild yeasts and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
