“The 2022 Pinot Noir Binger Scharlachberg is made from an ATVB fin selection on a south-east-facing one-hectare parcel of the Scharlachberg planted in 2020 on yellow quartzite with some grey slate and weathered quartzite that is now sandy. This maiden harvest amounted to just one 300-liter barrel. The nose is immediately vivid with mulberry and crushed forest fruit, tending more to red rather than black with exuberant freshness and a sense of graphite. The palate is juicy, has an edge of mossy savoriness, tones down its fruit and focuses on that bright acidity, shimmering with salt, iron oxide and the merest edge of licorice. A fine web of tannin, smooth but vivid, defines the mouthfeel. While the wine has a surprisingly dark hue of red, translucency is evident on the eye, nose and palate. There’s not a trace of heaviness or fat. What a debut! This will be explosive once these vines stretch their roots into the stone. Very elegant with a lovely length of savory stone. At the confluence of the Rhine and the Nahe, lies Bingen am Rhein. This is home to Weingut Riffel. The winery has been organic since 2009 and biodynamic since 2012 is run by husband and wife team Carolin and Erik - the fourth generation to tend to the now 18 hectares of predominantly Riesling and Pinot Noir. As well as making an array of classic Trocken and Kabinett Rieslings, they are also lucky enough to have holdings in the Grand Cru sites of Scharlachberg, Kirchberg, Osterberg and Rosengarten. Here on the quartzite slopes that mark out this special location, the grapes find full maturity, displaying an array of intense tropical and stone fruit flavours, with a wonderfully energetic yet rounded acidity that frame these captivating and mineral- infused wines. Only 100% perfect grapes are used to allow for long aging on their lees. Ferments are with wild yeasts.

What do I pay for delivery?

Orders under £150 are charged an initial £9.95 incl. VAT.

Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly.
Orders under £190 are charged an initial £12.00 incl.

All stock bought from Bond will be charged at delivery cost as quoted by the bond. As this varies dependent on the location of the wines and ultimate destination this will be quoted to you at the point of billing for VAT and duty.

And can we change order.

Deliveries are normally between 09.00 and 17.00 Tuesday to Friday and a signature is required on receipt of delivery. (We do not ship on a Friday for Monday delivery unless specifically requested to do so).

A shipping confirmation email will be sent when your order has been processed and shipped. You will be sent a further email and/or text with a delivery time slot and a consignment number along with instructions on how to amend this if required.

If you are out a card is left, with an instruction to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Alternatively, you can inform us to “leave safe”, “leave with a neighbour”, “leave in garage” etc. and we will pass this information onto the courier. Please remember that, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions, alcohol will only be left with persons over 18 Years Old.

We use Mailsafe packaging and double walled cardboard boxes for secure shipping of all bottles. Clear labelling marked FRAGILE is applied and all our despatches.

UK mainland deliveries are overnight from confirmation of despatch with the exception of the following postcodes where deliveries are made on a 2 to 5 day service from despatch :
