Tri Carragh Braes of Glenlivet 30 Years Old (Refill Bourbon Barrel)

50.6% abv

Vol- 70cl

Nose: Toffee Apple, Vanilla Fudge, Red apples, Strawberries, Sugar Icing .. the list goes on, its a nose full of fruits and sweetness that just draws you back again and again.
Taste: Neat brings flavours of fruit cake; slight spices along with the complex and diverse fruit flavours. With water this only opens up and intensifies the flavours further with more fruit and esters on the nose. Water dulls the spice on the palate emphasizing the fruit notes further.
Finish: Absolutely delicious!

The Braes of Glenlivet was a major location for illicit stills in the 18th and 19th centuries, and if local rumours are true, the practice continued until relatively recently. This remote, sheltered, high pastureland was ideal for moonshining – the first road to ‘the Braes’ was only laid in the 1960s. The distillery followed in 1972.
Braeval has steadily grown in capacity and is now home to six stills (two large wash and four smaller spirit) all with thin necks and upward sloping lyne arms helping to generate a lighter style with some floral notes.
It is rarely seen as a single malt – even independent bottlers scarcely have any. It shares the honour of being the joint highest distillery in Scotland with Dalwhinnie.

Tri Carragh, "Gaelic for three pillars" is a celebration of the three core ingredients of Whisky. Water, Barley and yeast have been used for centuries toproduce Scotland's finest spirit. When put through their paces and then left to rest in an oak cask, they create a unique Whisky, every time. Tri Carragh is about enjoyment and sharing; a dram, a chat, debate or story. We love the history and traditions that Whisky has been part of, and the way it connects and brings people together today.
