Port Askaig is a small but important village on the north east coast of Islay. Nestled on ancient granite rocks along side the Sound Of Islay channel, Port Askaig was and still is the gateway to Islay. From century old invaders and traders of the past to the tourists, whisky explorers and Isle lovers of today. Our whisky is named after this special place. Port Askaig Islay Single Malt Whisky was created in 2009 by independent bottlers, Elixir Distillers. Though a small company, Elixir Distillers and its founders have been recognised globally by the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition for their commitment to the industry. Their innovations have received great acclaim and several awards at Imbibe, a show that holds the respect of UK’s top on and off trade gurus. Port Askaig uses casks that have been meticulously matured and blended by Master Blender, Oliver Chilton. Each expression is made purely to reflect the essence of Islay’s beauty, its whisky, and its lifestyle. This elegant, balanced, and refined liquid offers flavours from bonfire smoke and peaty bogs, to soft, salty sea air.
